The first insulin injection was administered in Toronto in 1922. It has saved thousands of lives including mine.*
Insulin has given me a second chance, and should be celebrated.

*Although I suspect modern life / modern medicine "gave" me diabetes (excessive antibiotics as a child provoking a genetic predilection), I don't know this. Perhaps it would have manifested anyway.
