what a precious privilege to be alive (17 March 2016)

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.

- Marcus Aurelius

Marcus Aurelius reiterated this thought often, in different ways ...
easy to realise, difficult to embody and so worth repeating

The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.

Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.

- Marcus Aurelius

You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realise this, and you will find strength.

- Marcus Aurelius

Begin - to begin is half the work, let half still remain; again begin this, and thou wilt have finished.
